People think it's the Chinese that changed the site, but I think that's a secondary effect if at all. The people that run it, having made virtual money and gained notoriety, wanted to be part of the "cool kids," which, in their neighborhood, means kowtowing to left wing pols and the uber wealthy jewish NWO types. Since reddit was a free speech platform, the based opinions were embarrassing leadership. So, from the top down, they banned everyone slightly to the right. The rules changes are a shell game, but I think it provided some guidance to power mods as to what the leadership wanted.
I started calling out the admins on this and telling them they were faggots and went through a few accounts. Quit for a while, and now I have one that I only use to talk about vidya.
