The chief executives of AT&T (T.N) and Verizon Communications (VZ.N) rejected a request to delay the planned Jan. 5 introduction of new 5G wireless service over aviation safety concerns but offered to temporarily adopt new safeguards.

Nice of them to consider safeguards.

T-Mobile has had 5G stuff on the air for quite some time around me. It's worthless.

This argument appears to mostly revolve around 5G proximity to airports.

If the tinfoil crowd is right that 5G is going to light up everyone, I guess this is the one time where being close to an airport would be beneficial.

Eh, if you happen to be in range of the microwave stuff you get 1Gbit wireless akin to wifi that you don't have to login to. Otherwise, it's more about them more efficiently using their spectrum than it is for the consumer. The concerns about the health of it seem well founded. At least, not enough research was done to determine its safety.
