And the government gets away with doing it in the same way they get away with taxing wages as income. The key being the actual definition of "firearms", but that's an argument that isn't needed here. Who cares if it's legal? If they pass laws like requiring guns to be "smart" or impose insurance mandates on gun ownership, none of that is lawful and at that point, so fuckin' what if your guns are legal or not. Once that shit is on the table, revolution is past due. Murder is illegal, but a patriot won't think twice about downing a gun grabbing storm trooper that's at his to collect his guns.
