>Like I want a gun with a battery and a microprocessor in it.

As if it was just about what you want, if it ever was

As long as gun manufacturers are against it, I would say it's rather fine. Now the real problem will begin when they'll start to relentlessly lobby in that direction

We have over 400 million guns that don't have a processor or battery (except for optics) on them. They can try to regulate anything they want, but only do we have plenty of trad guns, many of us know how to make more.

many of us know how to make more

That will be the saving Grace. Especially as it becomes easier to make them.

Right now I'm pondering forced mutations of any existing market and a bunch of industries, through .gov regulations, in order to see if there's a potential parallel, a precedent

While I don't have a clear example in mind, I'm thinking of the energy market, green stuffs and all that, and the principle of taxation underlying the whole program

Additionally, convenience is how a bunch of stuffs we don't really like got introduced in our lives
