I don't give my number out to my work colleagues or even many of my friends. I carry my phone but make sure it almost never rings so I don't get interrupted on other people's terms. For example, if someone asks for my number so they can text me, I give them my email address and tell them to use that instead. I do miss the days of holding out on getting a mobile phone, then a smart phone. Before every situation was just me and my wits and that felt better.
