>the only drivers for our existence are sex and food
What's the incentive?
Death I guess, at cellular level at least
Maybe death is the universal primal driver
If there wasn't a built in incentive for sex then we would just eat and then die, sex is the first thing that has to evolve for life to exist, but only sex and food are actually required beyond that point
death is an unrelated moderator that just happens to make life tolerable for the end result of sex
conversely you can have an infinite number of AI's happily coexisting, because they are not inherently competing for sex in order to survive, they can cntrl C cntrl V whenever.
However they could evolve to not want other AI's to live I guess
What's the purpose of that built in mechanism?
Perpetuating life?
Isn't that a way of overcoming death?
sex and death doesn't have a purpose, it's just a self sustaining chemical process
and a continued existence for any life is just a result of physics
as long as matter exists, life will continue to spontaneously re-emerge, even if everything that preceded it has died
