Not too bad if you live in the Southwest where you have plenty of sunlight, solar panels and drive locally most of time. Lots of excess power generation goes back to the grid and when that happens you get wholesale rates (5-10% of retail) back. 1 kwH hour of excess is worth $0.02. Distributing excess charge to your EV would be pretty sweet.

EVs seem reasonable for a commuter vehicle and gas for hauling/long distance travel
