Cost is a very real consideration.
The main problem with solar is it is not cheap. Nearly every other building material we use is cheap. Asphalt is tar and sand? Concrete is basically sand and water, Wood is fairly cheap, and renewable, while plastics are dirt cheap. Silicon can be cheap.
Massive additional costs are added for building the grid infrastructure to support all of this decentralized power production. The current grid is not built for this.
How are they planning to pay for all of this?
