Especially when people just skim things and don't give them much thought. I entered "draft a news article about a senate candidate having a fundraising barbecue" at https://you.com/search?q=who+are+you&tbm=youchat and it gave me this:

>Local residents gathered in DeVoe Park this weekend to show their support for senatorial candidate Chris Smith at a fundraising barbecue. Friends, family, and supporters of Smith gathered to raise money for his campaign and show their support for his candidacy.

>The barbecue featured local food, games, and activities for those in attendance, with all proceeds going to Smith’s campaign. Guests were also able to hear from Smith himself, who spoke about his platform and why he is running for Senate.

>Smith is a staunch advocate for the local community and is eager to bring his message of change to the Senate. He is running a grassroots campaign, relying heavily on donations from his supporters and local businesses to fund his efforts.

>The fundraising barbecue was a great success, and Smith was thrilled to see so many people come out to show their support. He thanked his supporters for their generosity and dedication to his campaign.

>With the money raised from the barbecue, Smith is confident that he will have the necessary funds for his Senate bid. He is committed to continuing his campaign and making a positive impact in the Senate.>>

Most of that is fluff without any new or unexpected details, but it is plausible fluff.
