How would one know what sales would be without piracy to be able to even say this?

They had 5000 people fill out a survey. They asked them if they downloaded stuff illegally then asked them if they would be willing to pay full price for the last thing they downloaded.

From that they calculated "willingness to pay".

The fact that they chose not to buy the thing in the first place however shows exactly how willing they were to pay.

Kinda dumb study but whatever.

if they couldn't download what they downloaded, their answer might be different, so....VERY dumb study, I'd say.

This could be rewritten as there simply is nothing to pirate anymore because its all a flaming pile of garbage anyways

For the billions of dollars adobe gets for their insanely expensive subscription models I'm sure the number of people that download their software is negligible to their bottom line. Piracy is getting so stupid now with private trackers that "interview" you, far fewer people actually pirate anything...well, haha...

Private trackers are the faggiest thing I've witnessed on the internet. Never mind the interviews, they put you on a probation period, force you to show up in chats and communicate with their mods daily and always seed stuff just to support your (constantly dwindling) rating. You have to go through a lot of hurdles just to be able to download anything in the first place, it's like a fucking day job! Whatever they offer isn't worth that amount of effort by a mile.
