What and also the idea that the sand could damage the joints or motors if the bushings leak.

Really you would be better off mixing in some mercury too. The robots are probably made with a aluminium and mercury damages aluminium.

So do most drain cleaners and they're quite a bit cheaper. Heat up for best results.
