Due to this experience, I am seriously considering discontinuing my use of Amazon Echo devices and will caution others about this incident.
“seriously considering”?
What will it take for this man to learn his lesson?
Does he need Amazon to delete his account and permanently disable all of his stuff?
I thought of this kind of thing the moment I heard about these connected, smart home devices, but hearing a story like this is ominous. This is only a few steps away from monitoring your internet use for wrong think and shutting down your entire life. They do it routinely in China.
For now we are not forced to give any large organization this kind of control over our lives. Give it a few years.
