I'm concerned about the effect this would have in the track.
This would have to generate heat, which is its own issue. But more concerning is the repeated powerful "polarization/ reverse polarization" cycle the passing EM field creates in the iron itself. I think that may lead to a type of fatigue that the rails may not be designed to withstand.

I'm an old fart... cassette tape could only be re-recorded with new music a few times before it started to lose its high end. The ferrite degraded from repeated use. That makes it easy to believe this floating train seem like it's going to need special track in huge amounts, really quick, for the same reason.
