Well, that would suck. I remember "CodeRED" or at least that is what I think it was called and it killing cisco branded DSL modems.

Windstream

That company is trash. Years ago some network engineers got busted running their own ISP out of there. They also somehow managed to survive a bankruptcy after they fucked over so many vendors it isn't funny. How the C-level people have managed to stay out of jail should be a legal case study in law school.

Sorry to hear that. They are the only option out in the sticks. Frontier is another one, even though Verizon owns them. I would suggest Starlink if you can swing it.
