I suck at chess but I would expect a jew owned AI with unlimited (probably taxpayer) funds thrown at it be able to win chess.

The Atari chess program was programmed to consider a couple of moves ahead, likely limited by the tiny RAM and CPU the device had.

The chatbot doesn't look ahead, it's just looking at the board and going "I can move this piece to this square" without considering the consequences of lining itself up to get checked.

tl;dr chatbots are just massive information bases with a conversational front-end.

I bet a reasonable human chess player could beat it as well.

I would suspect anyone that's decent at Chess could whip a chatbot's ass and send it crying.

Yes, it should be obvious that chatgpt isn't made for chess and this article reveals no great hidden truth, but many (too many) don't get this. So I believe it's important to dispel the myth that there's any "thinking" going on in the chatgpt box.

It mimics human language, poorly. At best it's an unverified language collection and regurgitation model with a fabrication function. Maybe it could be good at writing children's books or something. I dunno'. I can't seem to find a beneficial use for it.

It's come in handy for medical issues I've had that weren't serious enough to see a doctor for. It gave me great advice on how to switch between 3rd to 1st shift, then back to 3rd, and diet recommendations also.

It definitely has it's uses, practical advice I think is one.
