I'm always wary of that type of testimony because of how easy it is to discredit in court. There is a lot to know about the dissociation that occurs in a situation where abuse is systematically traumatizing. Exposing the process and how it occurs in a lot of forms is important because normal people, who don't get exposed to a lot of abuse, find it really hard to comprehend how people can be this evil. "Normalcy Bias" is the greatest barrier to people being able to believe this stuff, despite a lot of documented evidence.
