Catbox sucks. Faggot owner got pissed at me for using them as a host, so he whined to doko.moe, mixtape.moe and one other I can't remember to ban pic8.

He's got to own doko as well though I've never heard of it. Both sites have links to torrents of lolicon. Even if they were all lolicon fans that would be an oddly specific coincidence.

Catbox banned pic8 first, took a bit for doko and mixtape. He whined to about it and said he was going to tell them to ban pic8 too.

ELI5 - as an average user, what would I do with this? Seriously, sounds like something I may be able to use and I appreciate your effort, I'm just not sure what I would do with it.

well pic8 is a proxy meaning it'll keep the image alive across multiple hosts, his is a host I am bugging to come add his as a host to pic8 he hasn't responded to my pings yet.

So this particular app is a standard file host but without limits and video support.

So you could use it as an image host. You could use it to posts movies. Because it can upload private files you could use it to transfer a file from one computer to another by uploading, then logging in from a different computer and downloading.

That the ELI5 version.

On the less ELI5 vesrion: The whole thing runs on top of a system that's able to do wilder and crazier things called a social serverless environment. I'm also working on a "syncbox" projects to run on this as well that would be for doing backups. Basically dropbox. It's the same system that runs the movie chat thing. And any user on the site is able to make apps like this.

Back to ELI5

If you ever have to host a video file this is a good place. I used to run a youtube alternative so I know streaming and if it's handling a video file it uses the same code as that project.

You see there is an ability to set a password. Don't bother with that shit. It doesn't work. But I suppose it will one day so there's that.

On the no limit I should add a caveat. I may at some point be going in a monetization direction with the jsos project in general where I find the users with gigs and gigs of stuff and ask them to pay a few bucks a month for proper unlimited.

For now I have a couple terabytes at my disposal that you guys can have. There are no limits of any form right now.

If you do want to upload terabytes just keep an eye on the project in case anything changes.

Http 206 means it plays really big videos good ;)

If there's no password, does that mean no personal accounts? If so, how do you keep grouped and find your own files later?

Woops. I meant on the upload form. So yeah. There are personal account.

I was working on uploading encrypted files (using a password) but I did it in a way where binary files like images were getting wrecked so that's what I meant. I should remove it from the UI but it being there is a reminder I need to just finish that.
