ELI5 - as an average user, what would I do with this? Seriously, sounds like something I may be able to use and I appreciate your effort, I'm just not sure what I would do with it.

well pic8 is a proxy meaning it'll keep the image alive across multiple hosts, his is a host I am bugging to come add his as a host to pic8 he hasn't responded to my pings yet.
So this particular app is a standard file host but without limits and video support.
So you could use it as an image host. You could use it to posts movies. Because it can upload private files you could use it to transfer a file from one computer to another by uploading, then logging in from a different computer and downloading.

On the less ELI5 vesrion: The whole thing runs on top of a system that's able to do wilder and crazier things called a social serverless environment. I'm also working on a "syncbox" projects to run on this as well that would be for doing backups. Basically dropbox. It's the same system that runs the movie chat thing. And any user on the site is able to make apps like this.

If you ever have to host a video file this is a good place. I used to run a youtube alternative so I know streaming and if it's handling a video file it uses the same code as that project.
