My little critters enjoy sitting on the couch with a fuzzy blanket and so do I. We’re having spring-like temperatures for the next week. I live in the mountains with exceptional scenery and the view outside the window is like a snow globe.

I am blessed and I pray that God blesses you as well.

It can always get worse. Enjoy it

Lucky you.

I hope I’ll live long enough to retire in a cabin, in the mountains.

I’m not retired. I work for myself which means I work every day, but my quality of life is far better now. I worked for a corp in the city, this is much better and I recommend making a change for anyone.

I live far from any northern place where I could buy land and build a cabin. It’s not a current option.

What about Southern? There are places in Colorado that are very cheap because there are no trees and little water, but with a well or cistern you could make it livable. Also, it’s either sunny or windy 95% of the time, so living off grid is very possible. These places are very inexpensive to buy land. Many people live in a trailer for 5 or 10 yrs while they build/save for building.

As I read this, I am laying down with my dog who is using me as a pillow while she gently snores.

She is a big suck who needs to get tucked in like this every night. If I don't acknowledge her staring at me quick enough, she looks at my wife and tells on me, so my wife has to announce that my dog wants snuggles. Then my dog stares at me, and wags her tail until I go lay on her bed, then she'll settle into a good spot and fall asleep.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

I sold my cabin unfortunately. The land owner (1000 year lease) decided to add 300 lots. Too many people moving into the quiet little place for me. It was also in the mountains. I'm sitting with my dog and cat watching hockey though.

Enjoy life as much as you can. With as radical as the world is now, everyday could easily turn to shit for everyone. I live out in the country, 7 miles from my 10k community. I've got my Shepsky sleeping at my feet, with a 15lb loaf of a cat curled up in my lap, enjoying a good cup of coffee. Today, life is good.
