From roast date it needs a day to a week to rest and outgas, then it’s good for maybe a month as whole beans at room temp. If you grind it, it’s good for minutes, not hours. Try it, get good fresh roasted beans from local roastery enthusiasts, grind and drink. Yum. Now after drinking it like that a couple days , grind two days worth. Brew one immediately and the next day brew two cups, one fresh ground and one day old. It s deadness will be readily apparent.
