Didn't get a chance to serve due to physical disqualification, but since everyone in my family was in EMS, I spent a number of years crashing through the woods doing Search and Rescue. They need ham radio operators just as much as they do helicopter pilots.

Ty, no shame in not joining Armed Forces, sounds like you serve your Country and Community just fine. I did it for Me. I also do Mountaineering, Alpine S&R very cool way of giving back, and dangerous.
