I do mainly sysadmin stuff, so my knowledge of React comes from the last time I tried to make a modern webapp. I gave up in disgust. Simple HTML and simple JS is bearable, if I really have to do it. The teetering tower of crud that is modern web development is just too much for me.
There isn't any soul in it anymore. Everyone wants flat UI so niggers with sub 30 IQ can figure out the application. You can basically learn modern web dev in maybe a day of fucking around with dreamweaver. Any fun or creative things aren't 'responsive' for mobile browsing so you just end up with the same boring color pallets and grids.
Back end and ML/AI modeling at least requires a brain and there are no niggers. HR is probably furious there are no applicants haha.
