Why do visitors need to be tracked?
This reminds me of physical stores (RIP) and the cops (sadly, not RIP) using what amount to fake cell phone/wifi/bluetooth networks to track customers in their stores.

They exist. Not used as often or maybe even ever, but they do exist. Tech company I previously worked for had one they developed for tracking what was done on their site outside of ((())) tracking. They had heat maps of where you moved your mouse the most on the site. Company ended up letting me go because of ((())) policies.
