Say that you talked to a lawyer, and you need your employers to put in writing EXACTLY what they are forcing you to do, and EXACTLY what the consequences are. - Do not say that you are or are not getting injected. Do not debate anything. Only say that you need everything in writing and signed by your boss so your lawyer and the state's labor board can review it.
If your bosses try to argue or debate that what they are doing is legal, don't say anything other than for them to put that in writing too and sign it so that your lawyer and your state's labor board can look it over.
Either way, don't quit. Make them fire you.
You're right about this. I challenged an assistant manager at our local grocers and told him I had exemption from wearing a mask. He said it was store policy and if I didn't comply he would order the cashiers to not let me pay for my groceries. I argued that the manager has oked me to not wear a mask and he denied that this was so but said they had allowed another customer to be exempt. He claimed I had to show proof of a doctor's note. I told him I wanted him to put this in writing and he said he would then called the manager. He came back a minute later and said I as ok to not wear a mask on the manager's orders. Just asking for it to be put in writing scared him as then I could sue as I would have documented proof of him violating my rights.
I low-key record all my interactions in public with no mask. This is an emotional issue for people, and you throw in emotions you're going to get, at minimum, heavy exaggeration if law becomes involved.
Probably the best advice right now. A lot of folks say their boss is requiring the vaccine, but it's not clearly stated in writing that they'll lose their job if they don't get the shot. So it turns out it's really just a stromg suggestion from employers.
Another point is that employers aren't shielded from injury lawsuits from employees they force to take the shot. I'm sure we'll see a few lawsuits against employers who forget to check with a lawyer before instituting a mandatory vaccine policy.
It's just wild. My employer has it in writing for the flu vax and the second covid is FDA approved I'm sure they will add it to the list. I'm going to fill out and have notorized a religious exemption form if they actually follow through on the policy. They are a Catholic organization and I bet they will quietly drop it to keep from being embarrassed.
What said.
