The FCC used to require television and radio news to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced. News was run at a loss. It was a public service they had to provide in order to have the right to broadcast. The airwaves were considered owned by the public, and providing the news was the payment for using them. Once they no longer needed the airwaves (Cable), they could pump out for-profit news that was just sensationalized bullshit.

He fucked us on gun control several times, starting as Governor of California. He signed the Mulford Act in 1967, that outlawed carrying loaded weapons in public. As President, he signed the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986, which outlawed automatic weapons. Then, he lobbied for the 1994 assault weapons ban. Many credit his support for overcoming the NRA's opposition to the bill.

He fucked us on immigration with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which granted amnesty to millions of illegals in the United States and put a giant "welcome" sign on America's sourthern border. We're still feeling the consequences today.

Unfortunately I did the same and now other people who still watch the media won't leave me alone and let me live my life. I used to be able to ignore it but now I can't even buy groceries without their influence harassing me. It shows that the level of control and influence is being weaponized against us.
