All two of them. Wow. Such a mighty fleet.
They're also pieces of shit.
They aren't going to sail their conventional ships as anything but bait to draw in the US fleet. They'll destroy the US fleet in the Taiwan strait with autonomous weapons they dropped off on the bottom of the strait that are primed to wake up when they tell them too and waves of tens of thousands of autonomous loiter drones. Think about what a v1 buzz bomb could do with a simple embedded computer and a camera or a modified torpedo that's designed to just sit on the bottom until its told to wake up and find a target. Machine vision is good enough now that you can train it to recognize a carrier and its support ships every single time and the same can be done with acoustics for guiding underwater weapons. They wont need to control the drones remotely so they'll be immune to electronic warfare. All they have to be capable of doing is spotting the target and crashing into it. They will be cheap enough that they could launch 25,000 of them and still not even be half the price of a single carrier and if half of them got shot down successfully the fleet would be out of ammo for the remaining half. Then once they are unopposed they'll sail around with their shitty carriers that aren't great but work well enough to go fuck up everything in the region.
I’m sure the entire US military NEVER thought of that. Yes, they will immediately follow China’s “bait” right into the Taiwan strait. The whole US navy. will then. get blown the fuck out of the water by Chinas robobot missiles You are a smart genius. much insightful
Just like they knew the afghan army was going to collapse right? Milley will probably call up Xi and tell him they are coming. US navy is more concerned about getting their first tranny captains and admirals than war fighting. How many times have they crashed into the largest ships in the world now during the day with 25 mile visibility? US military thinks it cant be knocked on it's ass even after 20 years in Afghanistan. When I see the navy all I see is the Maginot line. Admirals fighting the last war and not the current one.
I agree with you completely, except for the last sentence. Japan does have a few modern carriers with F-35s and helos on them and South Korea is building out their own fleet as well.
The Chinks are all set to take Taiwan with ease, but force projection much beyond that will be difficult for them

Not yet. They have two helo carriers which are currently being retrofitted to service fixed wing aircraft. It will take a while before they are fully operational.
yes force projection could get interesting but their are ways to leverage autonomous cheap vessels to do that too. An autonomous super tanker type ship just filled up with autonomous drones of various types patrolling around ready to dump their payloads in an epic suicide run. Every part of the system expendable without any humans involved beyond setting up the missions and turning them loose. Japan should be militarizing now with autonomous weapon systems as their backbone and foregoing these high dollar conventional platforms.
