So is resetting user scores, being used as a way to deter certain individual users from staying ?? Honest question.
Because the 'Muh algorithm' excuse, seems to be just that .... an excuse. How would 'The algorithm' know what is not a legitimately used downvote unless someone is accessing to see what is being downvoted, or if one is supposedly giving out too many downvotes - then how does that work if using them for the agreed purpose, at the rate of a couple downvotes per week to multiple upvotes per day.
My comment history is available for any bothered to look. I have been faded out, had my points regularly zeroed on an ongoing weekly basis - All while previously regularly upvoting daily and not spamming downvotes _ used to the letter of the downvote system - widely off topic trolls or obvious spam.
I was given a badge within 24 hrs of agreeing and commenting in a couple of different threads about a certain Admin seeming to be deliberately targeting supposed former voat users - whatever , neither here now there, thought the badge was cute.
Then i was faded out within 24hrs after having some inconsequential disagreement with same said Admin about a comment they made, and i said it was provably wrong and suggested they clarify it, which they only kept linking back to their original comment and started getting snarly and dismissive so i just copied the same snarky dismissive replies back. Whatever. Then each week , no matter what, the score kept reverting back to negative 150 - several times. Even after not downvoting , not spamming , not being off topic. The 'Muh algorithm' for all intents, imho, is used to disguise thinly veiled vendettas.
Exactly this. The admins here are literally no different than reddit mods. They just say nigger more. They just make shit up as they go along.
Concur, but Fck you have my upvote / ..... Edit -Tbh, i was hoping that a long standing user would reply to my concerns with some honest feedback - hence why i directed it to Professor -but meh guess it's not important enough.
Just like when AOU began requesting donations for running costs, the idea for having a real time banner on the front page for monthly operating costs and amount needed to donate with the running surplus - if any, so users have an exact idea when and if money is required. Nothing, zilch, nada, no-one bothered to think it was important enough to even comment on it in the actual thread. Ultimately just #takemymoney.
