I used to kind of like Windows 3.1, but then Windows95 came along, and Mick Jagger made me stop using it. Sad the day was, when DOS was no longer the heart of Windows. That occurred later, of course. Ah, the good old days, when Microsoft Word fitted on six 3 1/2 inch floppies. "Chug-chug-chug-klunk; chug-chug-chug ..." The sounds of happiness. And my hard drive sang to me like a coffee can full of BBs vigorously shaken, not stirred. Don't get me started on the dot matrix printer! I thought it was going to give me hearing loss. It was like being on the front lines in WW1. Damn those German machine guns! One good thing about modern computers -- I don't need to heat my office in Winter. It's like having a little heater next to my feet. So toasty. You youngins won't believe me, but there was a time when graphics cards didn't have fans on them. Really, I'm not kidding. In fact my present graphics card doesn't have a fan on it. But I'm old school, as in the school of Pythagoras.
