There is quite a big difference between Q and flat earthers. You can have a conversation with Q people most of the time and they will actually try and explain their perspectives to you. They won't always try to see it from your side but they do sometimes.
Flat earth people are not like that. They expect you to prove everything and they don't have to prove anything.
I don't think anyone cares what others believe as long as other people are willing to have a good faith conversation with you. Flat earthers are just bad faith actors. They are basically the same as liberals, neither wants to try and consider an alternative perspective.
You can have a conversation with Q people
Oh and what a "conversation" when conjectures are labelled as "facts", what a difference! /s
Flatearthers are trolls. Nothing more nothing less, and people taking them seriously are idiots
I used to take this position as well but I find that bar too high in general conversation with Q people.
I basically decided that I don't want to have conversations that end up just being purely technical where we are just comparing spec sheets and treating the universe around us as a machine. The reason that I did that is that I can only speak with technical authority in very few areas and it gets tedious to try to be as accurate as possible on everything.
Instead, I decided that my bar stops at people once in a while wanting to actually consider another point of view, even if they are pretending to. The moment somone shuts down all conversation and just starts demading I prove everything while they don't have to is the moment they have actively decided to do something similar to stab you in the back.
The rason that I made that decision is that it makes it easy to filter people by that simple test and I also have to admit that I'm an idiot and no one likes to listen to my bullshit.
The standard is that the burden of proof is on the one making the claim, that's pretty fair and normal, but not for everybody in the qcrowd, obviously, many confuse opinions, conjectures and proofs... So, that's like an entire education to build from scratch, I wonder where those people come from btw, and I guess probably from a religious background... Where faith is "everything", in the wrong sense...
I've spent a week immersed in the qcrowd on voat, and I was like "I want to believe, convince me" because I realized it was a long and complex story and that people over there were not necessarily gifted when it comes to rhetoric and debates, so I gave them a chance to make their case, and it was a shitshow of conjectures and wishful thinking bordering on "pareidolia" for lack of better word.
That's my experience with the qstuff, since then I came back to it once or two but it was just the same train of thought so I blocked the sub and only unblocked it recently
It looks more sane now, more like a press review like you can find in other subs, but you still get "trust the plan", you still have people believing it's real and they aren't trolls for the vast majority I've tested them they sincerely believe in the plan and Q, unlike the vast majority of flatearthers who only play pretend and develop treasures of imagination in terms of bad faith answers lol
In a way I feel bad for the Q people, they're being used I think and not necessarily by some shadowy organization but rather by wannabe gurus and cynical people
That's because flatearthing is an exercise in always winning an argument by shamelessly misusing logic. They have fun and are proud of haveing so much phantasy that they can counter every argument with an outlandish story about millions of people colluding to give us the round-earth illusion.
