Because once you use it it's no longer clean.

I know I could just ask but asking everyone is more fun.

If you dirty your towel after each bath, did you really clean yourself?

[–] 3 pts

moisture and bacteria no matter what you do

[–] 3 pts

One per week, use a fresh washcloth for the crack each day. My towel dries fast in CA so no moisture problem. Bacteria should have been washed off.

Nope, bacteria lives everywhere in and on your body, we call it skin flora, that said the bacteria lives off your dead skin, oils and other skin bacteria and yeast so showering reduces it's rate of reproduction, and most of it wont thrive on a towel but yeast is a part of your flora too and it will thrive on a moist towel.

The next issue that most showers are in a room with toilet that is regularly used, so humidity stays above the rest of the house's base level from a bowl of water in the same room and it disperses shit loads of bacteria from your colon and whatever bacteria festers in your toilet when it flushes.

Best practice is a new towel every shower but a 1 time reuse isn't the end of the world, and this would be 3 times if you don't have an active toilet in your shower room and add another day if you live in an arid climate.

If your skin flora is well balanced and you don't get acne or other skin problems then just keep doing what you are doing if that's one towel every 7 days then go for it, if you have skin problems change your towels and sheets more often, shower more, exfoliate, moisturize, no fix? could be a food or textile/polymer/wood/detergent/soap allergy you are ignorant of, or it could be your washing machine or dryer is dirty.

Hygiene is primarily about health but secondarily about being socially presentable because hygienic practice tells others about your health and self preservation instincts.

are you a fag?

Can't you tell? Is something wrong with your gaydar?

How many weeks do I go with one towel? Too many.

[–] 3 pts

Everyone here is lying. That's the only answer I can give you - the truth kind of stinks like a 7-day old towel.

[–] 3 pts

One towel a week, max. Y’all using a new towel each day are a bunch of clean freaks.

[–] 3 pts (edited )

I change out mine once a month whether it needs it or not

[–] 2 pts

One, wash it every weekend.

[–] 2 pts

Same here, unless it smells. Then it will be two or three but that is rare. I also have hand towels by the sinks and washcloths that all get washed weekly, as well. The washcloths can end up being two or three depending on how dry they get between dish washing sessions - I thoroughly soap and rinse them befoeing hanging to dry but sometimes even that's not enough.

I shower every day, sometimes twice because of gym/work. Every time I shower that towel goes to wash.

I have a seperate towel that I use to pat my face after shaving, I change it every week max.

Also seperate one for drying hands afyer I wash them, one week max.

Then there are nice colored towels that I bring to the gym, also put then to wash after every workout.

That's a lot of towels, but hygiene is non-negotiable. Just buy more towels, niggers.

Buy more towels, niggers

this is a candidate for slogans lol

2-3. I have used as little as 1. If you have a bathroom with a good rack and airflow to dry the towel it doesn't get dirty enough to require a change after each use. A better question would be if people use just soap, a rag, or some kind of loofah to clean and how often they get changed/cleaned.

OR if the bath towel used to dry yourself is also used for drying hands as well.

To be fair, anything you hang in the bathroom where a toilet is gets covered in poop after every shit. Unless you keep a towel in a cabinet just before each use, it is "dirty." Look up fecal cauliflower if you think not.

[–] 1 pt

coliform I believe you meant.

[–] 1 pt

I did mean to say cauliflower, but that seems to be because I was confused. When I heard of the clouds of fecal particles created when defecating, I heard it referred to as "fecal cauliflower." Which I believed to be some strange, but named way that process occurs. I didn't hear or understand that it was coliform, that coliform is the name of the bacteria. Now I wonder if there if there is a term for the actual cloud of fecal mater created when defecating.

Thank you for educating me, because I have referred to that particle cloud as fecal cauliflower for some time.

To my understanding, there is a "cloud" of fecal mater created when you shit. So I still stand by my argument, even if I used misnomer.

[–] 3 pts

I'm going to start calling it fecal cauliflower from now on.

[–] 1 pt

That would more appropriately be named a sharticle cloud.

Lol

We use one towel per shower, we wash the towel, not because it is dirty, but because of the chance of mildew.

[–] 1 pt

Two, maybe. Showering daily usually isn't good for your skin, I skip days unless I stink and need to be around people.

Best to retain natural oils which help maintain a skin pH too acidic for many microbes to thrive and dig deeper. The "acid mantle."

[–] 1 pt

I workout almost daily. So can't do that skipping business.

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, same... I was gonna say...

[–] 1 pt

Ew. Yea I was gonna say.. 7. You shouldn't reuse them.
