Thus, in my restaurant experience, is the difference between corporate and franchise. A lot of times, franchise can be nothing more than a Mom & Pop with a brand name (that they pay for). They have to meet certain criteria to keep it, but corporates are more strict. This probably accounts for the vastly different experiences people have.
