Diesel generators. Solar can't generate enough power.

Well, obviously. The EV owners are just mad that they have to admit their cars are actually powered by Diesel and Coal. While they sit all smug thinking "look I am so good for the environment".

No you fucking moron. You just changed where the pollution was taking place and you are even WORSE by orders of magnitude because of the massive amount of loss over high transmission lines needed to deliver that power generated a hundred or more miles away to your stupid EV.

Not just that but the vehicles are also significantly heavier meaning more energy overall needed to move them, more wear on the roads, more rubber pollution from their tires wearing down, more landfill waste from their wheel motors burning out fairly quickly and more hazardous waste from the creation and disposal of the battery packs.

yep, the list goes on and on.

I am all for innovation and for that to happen there needs to be consumer adoption but not FORCED adoption pushed by the government. The market will deliver what the people want. About 50% of EV owners say they are going back to a gas car for their next vehicle.

It was pushed too much, too fast and without proper infrastructure to support it. Hell, the entire US grid would collapse if there was only something like ~18% of population adoption of EV's (or I think that was the number I read, I could be wrong, I don't have that source available at the moment).

Thank you. Very few appreciate the conversion losses of electric as electricity is transmitted over long wires, stepped down by transformers, converted to chemical energy, converted back to electricity, and converted to mechanical energy again. It's not very efficient.

People are stupid. People think think things like "Big wire from power plant 100% of power go to me or people around me". They have no concept that there is loss in the system, that the loss is based on hundreds of factors, etc.

Its like the food thing just in a different industry. "Why do you hunt, killing animals is wrong, you can just buy meat at the store". Yes.. But where the fuck do you think that meat came from? "It came from the store, are you stupid"?

Face, meet brick wall...

You have to drive five hundred thousand miles with an EV to equalize the pollution of driving with gas 100k miles. Find an EV dealer that can give you a warranty of 20k miles; its impossible.

By that time, the battery would probably be completely useless. Maybe still having enough capacity to drive ~30 miles at best if it did not fail entirely. Not considering the rest of the vehicle.

Also, you have to take into account the environmental impact for mining the materials to build the car, ship all of the materials.. etc.

A ton of the mines for those materials are basically slave labor and child labor. Still feel good about buying that EV?
