My kid is getting annoying with asking for a cell phone. She's 12. All the other kids do, in fact, have a cell phone. If we went any particular route, it would be a flip phone or something at best, but I am familiar with modding, so that is an option (say, to get a solid phone and then mod to lock-down/remove bloat).

Curious what others out there have done.

Edit: TMobile, would rather not get any "new" or phones on a loan/prepurchase. IMHO, she's not getting one at least until she's 13...

Buy Smart phone at age 12 Watched diligently for two years checking history app etc now he’s in high school and active with friends and sports so I’m not to concerned But the tracking app stays on I did plenty of fucked up shit without a cell phone he’s never getting away with when I have a tracker on him
