Easy. Just don't do it. Throw the letter in the trash. "Civic Duty" my ass. There is no actual law that requires you to do jury duty. They say it's illegal, but there is no law. The judge can charge you with contempt, which also isn't a law. It comes from the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (Rule 70). Not a law.
Awesome! Have you ever personally been drawn for Jury Duty and actually done that yourself though? (Just throwing it in the trash)? If so, what state do you live in and what was the result?

Yes once about 4 years ago.

Michigan. Nothing happened.
I did the same with the census. Threw it in the trash.
Awesome. Thank you for this response.
Ugh, I threw the census shit in the trash and they just kept sending me letter after letter and bugging the shit out of me to do it. They finally just wore me the fuck out and I did it. I filled it out with a bunch of useless bullshit info that was completely inaccurate and then they sent me a thank you letter.
I have ignored it I two states. Connecticut and Vermont. Nothing happened. I completely ignored it and tossed the letters and never heard another word about it. I was planning on just playing dumb and saying I never received anything if they pushed but it never came to that.
Amazing. Thank you for your feedback!
