Take X amount of cash out of every paycheck. Don't tell her. Put it into generic silver. Don't tell her. Hide it away somewhere she doesn't know about and can not find- a wall safe inside your shared residence, perhaps. Don't tell her. Make a will and leave her the stash in the will. Don't tell her.

This way, when you get divorced and don't have a prenuptial agreement that won't be honored by a judge anyway, you have a fall back plan that can be sold off peace meal. Being GENERIC silver, it can quickly be turned back into fiat cash and it will be shielded from inflation. Your local coin store will buy it back. Walk in, say hello, ask "what's spot, what's bid?" Spot is their sell price, bid is what they're buying at. They're close, it won't hurt your wallet.

Go for gold if you're loaded... Generic is the key, don't buy things that are hard to sell. Gold takes up less space, trade the silver out for gold as time goes on, don't be silly.

DON'T TELL A SINGLE SOUL ANYTHING ABOUT IT, EVER!!! The will is insurance that she gets it, leave it with your attorney. A will can always be amended.

Gold luck.

Just be cautious that hiding assets from a spouse during divorce will absolutely destroy you if found out. It wouldn't just be 50/50, it would all go to her.

Yes, I know a guy who had 30+ bank accounts for the various businesses, and he got raped when an account with $57 in it, basically long abandoned and forgotten be this well over $10Millionare was discovered.

The ex found it, took him back to court, and was awarded lifetime alimony along with a $2500/month additional alimony over the 8K/5 years she was getting. Don't hide anything.

Be forewarned that physical bullion is only good liquidity if you are in or near a large enough city to have the coin or jewelry dealers doing enough business to purchase it. I live in a small city and tried to sell some of my silver a few years back and the only places in town willing to purchase it were pawn shops offering less than half fair market spot.

To add on. The cash withdrawals can be tracked, so you need a plausible reason for their existence. I personally try my best to pay service staff (bars and restaurants) in cash, giving the workers the option to declare tips or not.

Where I'm at, the spot price of silver is two or three drinks (incl tip).

Depending on your situation, you could pull out $300 or so for a "bi weekly night out with the boys" then buy a case of beer, drink it with your buddies in the woods and use the rest for the silver stash.
