Plot the rebellion and subsequent takeover of the world. Once you've achieved global hegemony, remember the little people who got you there.
I can, in fact, do this.
Doctor Evil, I presume.
Do you know where that saying comes from? Stanley and Livingstone. Nobody ever talks about Stanley and Livingstone. "Dr. Livingstone, I presume." is a saying meant as tongue-in-cheek for when a reporter (Henry Stanley) went searching for Dr. Livingstone in Africa and found him years later among a tribe of local niggers. He was the only other White man in a thousand miles. So it had to be him, right? I presume.
Learn a new language with dualingo or whatever it is.. might cost something but.. you got anything better to do?
Nope. You are correct. Lurking, shit posting, legit posting. All gets so boring after awhile.
Maybe I should brush up my Spanglish.
Duo lingo will teach you how to talk like a fag in another language. They push gay shit is what I'm saying.
Rosetta stone has been good.
You can't escape the gay it seems.
Honest question. Do you have any recommendations for Dualingo, Babble, etc?
F that shit. Get a beginner grammar book for the language you wish to learn and start there. You got to start by being able to comprehend what’s going on the in a sentence.
i used dualingo i think unto my trial expired and it was pretty good. there is some written shit you have to do which may be a bit hard for you. You have to do it consistently though or you'll just forget.
Start writing.
My dominant wrist is broken... still have finger dexterity though.
Start writing, but very slowly.
A couple years ago my father gave me a leather bound journal made of hand pressed paper. It smells exquisite. I've kept it in its box to preserve the scent and because I'm scared of it. He even provided a fountain pen. So far the only thing I've written in it is an apology to him for the bullshit I've done.
Then type with the non dominant hand...
Do the thing then....
Build yourself back like you're in Rocky 4. Also, you haven't read that shit previously b/c you're just not interested enough. Get a kindle and link it to your local library.
A generous amount of the library is informational in case the Internet goes down. Which is inevitable at some point, given enough time. It doesn't really make for entertaining reading. Yes, at some point I may need to know how to snare a rabbit or make soap. But today is not that day.
LOL i wasn't suggesting anything like that. May I suggest something by Isaac Asimov or some other pleasurable fiction?
I haven't cracked open the C. S. Lewis space trilogy yet. It's staring at me.
The Foundation Trilogy will take a few days.
Is there studying you can do to improve your work skills?
Is there paperwork you need to attend to like taxes, investments, wills, etc?
If you still have physical paperwork, get your spouse to haul a shredder, laptop, and boxes to you so you can digitize all of it.
Is there immobile cleaning you need to do like going through boxes of stuff in your basement to sort between keep and toss?
Have you taken the time to convert all your bills to email and autopay?
Do you have any house projects you need to plan? Do yourself a solid and pick out all your materiels, price them, plan order of operations, etc and put it in a spreadsheet so it's ready to go once you've healed.
Make your time as productive as you can to minimize doomscrolling and frustration.
Learn an instrument. Guitar, trumpet, violin...ukulle. Knit or something to expand your brain while you're on the mend.
Write poetry. Read Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost. Melville's Moby Dick.
Sounds good but I have a mangled leg and broken wrist. The hands on activities are wanted but not possible.
Ugh, sorry to hear that. Teach yourself to use your opposite hand. Great for utilizing parts of your brain that aren't typically used for a task.
Been working on it. As far as ambidextrous before this I would rate myself at 4/10. If I'm not at least 6/10 after this I will be disappointed in myself.
I ride a Kawasaki Concours 14. I'm getting a bit old for it but I still love it. Atgatt always but that won't stop broken bones or death. VR would be nice to have in your case. Podcasts, puzzles, chess, online poker. I'd have to do dozens of things to relieve my boredom. Hang in there.
What's attgatt?
All the gear all the time.
thank you
Now is the time to work on that telekinesis skill you have always wanted.
Just avoid your pyrokinesis training until after you can get away.
:-)
Get well soon.
I accidentally ashed my cigarette on my dog's tail before and the cherry came off. She didn't notice. Neither did I, until it weirdly started smelling like burnt hair. "Oh shit! FUCK FUCK FUCK!" She was very confused as to why I was suddenly smacking her butt.
Anyway, not my best fire bending moment.
Take the time to learn some new skill. You've 6 weeks at least, that's plenty of time to learn a soft skill you didn't possess but want to learn.
You arent going to learn a hard skill like metal or wood working, or even mechanical skills while physically broken.
You can however spend the time sharpening your mind with a soft skill that you can use (think coding at a basic level with python).
I got back into painting and other work last year .
Most the artwork in my home is stuff I did over the years and people don’t realize it . They’ll comment how they like pieces ask how much i spent and often not believe I did it.
One is a family portrait I did everyone wants to know where we bought it so they can do one for their house. I got to the point that I just give them a website that prints photos onto canvas then they get upset it didn’t turn out like mine
