The ability to make you forget the analysis of the story, and the ability to just enjoy the story. By all accounts, Independence Day was a dog shit movie, on paper. But when you watch it, plot holes and everything else go by the way side and your swept into an engaging story. Same with Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc
