Just curious what might be going on. Get this message.. net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Thought maybe I got the boot. I created another account, logged in then logged out. Logged back in with this account and finally got back in.

Your IP got blocked for flooding Poal with requests.

It's usually caused by your browser when you restart it and re-open a session, all the previous tabs get loaded at the same time, and if they all are pointing to the same domain, Poal in that case, the anti-flood algorithm will automatically detect it and block the IP this flood originates from.

This can also happen when you fail the captcha several times or try to login (or register) too many times in a short period of time.

Has happened to me a couple times when I tab through the pages listing all the different subs too quickly. Last time was semi-permanent until your last maintenance outage. Started using a VPN a while ago, and all has been good since!

Blocked IPs aren't just dropped after their block time expired.

The ones that get caught again will get blocked, but the block time will increase exponentially.

This is to make sure attack botnets are kept at bay.

That's a good way to handle it.

I've noticed Poal won't load for me if I forget to turn on my VPN.

That's probably your ISP who has Poal blocked.

I figured it could be that.
