They don't build 'em like the used to, eh?
WWII temp housing built with scarce materials in 1942 - cheapest of the cheap then, and those materials are apparently more resilient than what we use today. They re-framed the roof (no gutters on it 42 years ago), added eaves and the two covered porches and turned it into a single unit (was a duplex back in the day). Roomie and I and the tenants in the other half all called it the Shitplex. I moved into the Taj Mahole the following year - it was a step up.
