In case you're wondering, it's amazon basic. Lasted about 3 5 years. I guess I got my $20 worth. I am willing to spend more for quality that last longer. What does the unwashed masses say?

I checked my amazon account. Basically $4 a year until death.

I ALMOST got scammed by one of them in the mid to late '90s as a teenager. I was one of the first people I knew to get a cell phone. After hearing their pitch, I told the guy I didn't have cash on me and he offered to take me to the bank to get $300 or whatever it was that he claimed was below cost of the very official looking invoice he presented.

Anyway, on the way I called my friend who loved audio equipment and asked him if he wanted one of the 2 pairs that they had. My friend promptly told me their entire pitch followed up by "it's a scam".

I immediately told the guys that I didn't want the speakers anymore. The guy in the back of the van pipes up "get out of that seat". I went to the back of the van and he was holding a cushion that he has been sitting on. I thought we were going to get into a fight right there, but he just walked past me to sit in the front of the van in the actual seat. The driver told him to give me back the seat and he said "No, this is bullshit, he makes one call and then doesn't want it anymore". I told the driver it's ok, just pull over and let me out, I can run back since I ran track etc.

I had a horseshoe up my ass that day.
