I get the short version: Cracker Barrell changed their logo, most people think it is significantly worse. Apparently they changed the interior decoration too. I have to say I've probably only eaten at a Cracker Barrell a handful of times in my life, and while I remember it being fine it doesn't have a place of nostalgia for me or anything.

I can understand folks being like, "This logo is dumber, the decorations are worse. I do not like this, I'm going to buy my pancakes elsewhere cause I no longer like the decor."

But why is this allegedly a cultural thing now? I don't think the new logo is (was) good either, but I didn't see it as particularly "woke" or anything, just minimalist to the point of detriment.

It's comfort food among comfortable decor in god awful chairs.

According to The Fat Electrician, they've only made the change at 30 locations. There's a chance they updated the 30 worst performing locations as a test and they can shut those down now in a few months and write off the remodel expense(s). As quickly as they reneged on the logo, if they keep that Karen CEO, who knows. If she's ousted, this is likely a backdoor scheme to oust her.
