Gruesome Newsome does it again. Allowing people to subdivide their residential home and build high density housing isn't enough destruction of middle class neighborhoods. Now you can build up to 6 stories high under SB79 high-density housing law if within a half-mile of virtually any transit stop. https://www.billtrack50.com/billdetail/1785338

Now add AB2553 which defines a major transit stop as a bus stop having a pick up interval of 20 minutes so that the destruction of neighborhoods can be expanded throughout the suburbs. https://www.coxcastle.com/publication-ab-2553-a-small-change-with-big-consequences-how-five-more-minutes-could-increase-transit-oriented-development

This is only going to further destroy California.

And it's so so sad. California was once the star of the nation. And it has so many beautiful places.

But in less than a year I will have finished my move out of California. And I won't be back. The damage being done to that beautiful state will take at least two generations to repair - likely more.

Already have a nice house and land in a much more free state than California. I'm happy about the move, but I'm so upset the leftists have fucked California so badly.

what are you going to do when there is nowhere left to run to?

cowards run

men stand and fight

Fair point, but I fought for a long time. I’ve been fighting since the early 80s.

Right now I don’t think fighting more will help. Kommiefornia needs to completely fail and undergo a big reset. Maybe even a bit of a violent war. And all of that will take at least two generations, maybe more. I’m not sticking around for that shit when I’ve already put in so many years and earned my happiness.

Why I left So. Cal in 2017. I'd like to jump in the Pacific once more before I die, but that looks more and more doubtful each year

So glad I got to experience CA in the 90s.

You couldn't pay me enough to live there now.

You should tried it in the 70s, and early 80s.

Was too young.

It was fun. A lot less people, freeways, crime, ...(all the city stuff we love now.)

6 stories of cheap, stick-frame housing. Yeah, what could go wrong there?

Plot twist: They already over-regulate building design and construction due to seismic issues. Multistory buildings on small residential lots with minimal footprint will be cost prohibitive. Of course the point may be that they don't want any development/re-development at all.

Nope, they'll siphon taxpayer money to their "consultant" friends through the "SB 2 Planning Grants" the "Infill Infrastructure Grant Program", the "Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program", and the "Multifamily Housing Program (MHP)" to make it happen at 10x the cost while lining their pockets with kickbacks. California is more corrupt than a third world country.
