Hypothetical: Is a wife who cooks and cleans for everyone held in high enough regard that a hard working bachelor would keep her and her spouse around a while to cook and clean for the household? (lets say the husband was between jobs and just found one after a year)

That works. I wouldn't want an unknown male in my house though. If I were to, I'd hire a female maid/cook but my wife does a lot of that anyways. I help out but she does a lot of it for free.

That's your Brother though. If he came in and fucked your wife or girlfriend I'd disassociate them. You probably have mutual trust.
