Just out of curiousity, 1880 is a interesting choice of year, The longest running global temperature record started in 1850.

So how can we be sure that there was not a hotter year before 1850? I'm not saying you are wrong but what I am saying is the data is far from complete.
In addition to that in the wikipedia article I linked it specifically says 1880 to 2012 in the total warming and trends section. I'm just saying that is quite interesting.
There have been hotter times. Two related articles:

Rapidly propelling ourselves back towards the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum is a recipe for a bad time...
Well agree to disagree, personally I believe if man made climate change is happening large corporations have much more to do with it than any individual. The champions of climate change all seem to fly on their private jets pretty frequently and that says a lot to me about how much they buy into the theory. That being said changing individual behavior I'd bet won't have a huge impact. If you really wanted to see something change you would go after the mega corps that spew crap into the air out of factories. The individual's carbon foot print is minuscule in comparison.
Good luck though I genuinely hope you make progress for your cause.

That's my main point. Those corporations care only for profit, and they profit by continuing to do business as usual, hence spend buckets of money convincing people like you and that there's no problem.
A few greenies reducing their personal carbon emissions to zero isn't going to do anything. Large-scale collective political action is needed. We humans are incredibly stupid when considered as a whole (tragedy of the commons) and our political systems are corrupt - we're pretty screwed.
