Table salt is mined, not from the ocean, so this is bullshit unless they are using a plastic, eg. polyethylene in the equipment used to powder or blend the salt.

A new study looked at sea, rock, and lake salt sold around the world.
Clearly it's not all mined. You'd guess the rock salt would be less polluted, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Groundwater contamination could be possible - I can't be bothered looking into the details.
