SO here is a non hypothetical situation for you to consider. I spent 11 months working with a man. A white man. He was married and separated from his wife. So his wife was impregnated by an African American gentleman. She told him, because we are married you must sign the birth certificate despite the fact that he knew the kid was not his. HE SIGNED IT. He told me he didn't have a choice and now he is paying child support for 18 years for a kid he knew was not his. This guy has 6 kids that are his. I feel like you're exaggerating just a little on that front. Only one of your customers can be your co-workers wife.
As for your co-worker - of course I sympathize. I have the usual questions about what legal options are available to him when the kid is obviously brown, and not his... but I assume that'll go nowhere. Elsewhere in the world people are being sold into sexual slavery - and both scenarios don't have much to do with your smoking addiction.
