Sure, to question the "facts" that you have no problem with is ridiculous, but to selectively question or blatantly ignore the facts that grate against your worldview is not ridiculous.
The flat-earther's idea of what should and shouldn't be questioned is different from yours, and the flat earther ignores the ideological bias of others to support his own conclusion. You also have your own arbitrary rules concerning what should and shouldn't be questioned, and clearly you actively ignore the facts and research provided by others - I'm sure that works nicely with your worldview.
Either trust nothing and accept that you know nothing and should assert nothing, or accept that you have no hope of negotiating the enormous fuzzy border between fact and bullshit without the help of others. If you're going to arbitrarily ignore the research of some people, or even worse, accept some of what they say and reject other research because you don't like the potential implications, don't kid yourself into thinking you're finding truth.
The fact there is apparently no political fact-checking site that you will consider, should be a huge red flag to you - maybe it shows that your ideology is fundamentally anti-fact.
Not accepting other people’s opinions and preferring to check for myself is anti fact?
Also you keep acting like you know what my world view even is. You don’t sorry. Perhaps you are making too many assumptions?
What is my stance on climate change? What is my stance on women’s sufferage? You keep assuming let’s test this and see how close to home your assumptions are.
Not accepting other people’s opinions and preferring to check for myself is anti fact?
It's not that hard a concept: you cannot check for yourself - there's no time to check everything. You must rely on other people's opinions (real or imagined). All you have is a weak excuse for dismissing opinions you don't like.
What is my stance on climate change?
Your stance is soulless and political. It would be awkward for you to ever accept the science because you run this website, so you fence-sit with excuses about not having looked into it sufficiently. A reasonable person would trust the expertise of scientists to tell you what's happening with the climate, in the same way you trust their expertise to tell you the earth is round.
What is my stance on women’s sufferage?
Don't know, don't really care, but since you bring it up and you don't appear to hate women, I assume you're all for women voting. (This is not a question one needs to ask out in the real world.)
I know who you stomach as an admin, and now I know you ignore fact-checks like a flat-earther ignores science and engineering.
Well gotta say wrong on both fronts, not even close on climate change and nope on womens sufferage. Not to say I don’t think women should vote. However you don’t seem to care to have an actual discussion, in order to do that and win hearts and minds you would have to find out what others actually think before trying to sway their opinion. In order to change someone’s mind you must first understand what they have in it. I’d love for more people to support your cause but you are not going to get people to support it this way.
