Why do those pump trucks have such huge booms? Wouldnt it make sense to have trucks with short booms for jobs where you dont have to reach waaaaay out or waaaaay up and over? Idk about this stuff too much though so there might be a reason for the ridicuboom
They do make pump trucks with smaller booms, however, We parked this truck at the top of the hill because we could get that close due to the muddy lake bed.
In short it makes it easier to get the concrete around whatever you are pouring with out having to move your pump truck several times. If you have a shorter boom that will just reach to the other side of what you are pouring it makes it harder to reach the stuff that is closer without moving the truck. It also keeps the pipe out of the way of people who are working on the ground. With a longer boom you can go up and then come down over the area you are working which gives better control and keeps you from having to move your pump truck. I took some pictures to try and help explain.
Means it's going to be more difficult to reach the whole napkin without
Let's you have more control and no need to
Sorry it's hard for me to explain stuff like this through text.
