Can Poal please tell - I’ve got 3” lights on a 1 5/8” lowered ceiling and the electrical box with the 3” light can go straight into the hole however the ceiling is only lowered 1 5/8”. The hole is too small to allow the box to go in at an angle.

Can Poal please tell is it ok or allowed to “permanently” seal the electrical box for the 3” light in the ceiling?

Thanks!!

Thanks! Is it a good idea though? The box wouldn’t be accessible at all unless the drywall was cut at least some.

Don't the lights have spring clips to hold them in? Show me a pic

The black box would get stuck behind the ceiling but the light itself could be easily replaced.

You should not be using LED lighting.

The light is ugly, harsh, and affects your mental state as well as physiological processes in the brain.

The blue part of the spectrum in LED lights is permanently damaging to the cones in the retinas of your eyeballs. Over time this leads to vision impairment.

Energy efficient? Sure they are. Safe for humans? Certainly not.

Studies have shown the cumulative damage to the eyes. Studies have shown disruptions in body functions. Studies have shown sleep disorders caused by these lights.

Pay the extra $100 a year on electricity for safe traditional lighting.

I only have a 2" deep ceiling though. What other options are there?

There are mini xenon fixtures that can fit in there if your goal is recessed cans.
