Can Poal please tell - I’ve got 3” lights on a 1 5/8” lowered ceiling and the electrical box with the 3” light can go straight into the hole however the ceiling is only lowered 1 5/8”. The hole is too small to allow the box to go in at an angle.

Can Poal please tell is it ok or allowed to “permanently” seal the electrical box for the 3” light in the ceiling?

Thanks!!

The black box would get stuck behind the ceiling but the light itself could be easily replaced.

Besides, 3" lights are gay anyway. Use 4" or 6", then you can always pull the box back out for...whatever reason in future. Put the lights on a dimmer.

I’m trying to get 20 lumens per sq ft and these lights at 370 lumens are the only ones that will do it.

I’d be ok with dimming but these lights take 4 seconds to turn on from a cold start at their lowest dim level. It’s not until like 50% they start taking 1 second.

4 seconds????? What is this, 1930?? Test them, that can't be right. Make sure your supply is actually 120v at 15 or 20 amps first. No way should it take that long!

You have the wrong type of dimmer switch for the LED driver most likely. You need a trailing edge dimmer. That or the lights themselves aren't dimminy compatible.

what is your issue with the box? I have installed dozens of these. Just jam that fucker in there and forget it, nothing can happen.
